German Delegation Advances Photovoltaic Solutions in Vietnam

29.10.2024

In a week marked by dynamic exchange and forward-thinking discussions, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) successfully hosted a German business delegation from October 21 to 25, 2024. The program “Photovoltaics for Self-Supply of Industrial Parks in Vietnam” focused on exploring new opportunities for industrial sustainability and fostering collaborations between German and Vietnamese companies in the renewable energy sector.

Strengthening Ties for Sustainable Growth

The delegation trip was part of the Energy Export Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action to support German companies in entering and expanding within the Vietnamese market, with a particular focus on photovoltaic technology. With Vietnam's rapid industrialization, the demand for energy has surged, leading to increased interest in sustainable energy solutions such as solar power. Industrial parks across the country are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint and lower energy costs, making photovoltaics an ideal solution.

The delegation consisted of representatives from German companies specializing in photovoltaics. Throughout the week, the group participated in a series of , a conference and B2B meetings with local Vietnamese companies, customers, and partners, opening the door to future collaborations.

Key Highlights of the Delegation

On October 21, the delegation kicked off their program with direct B2B meetings and a visit to the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2024 at the Thiskyhall Sala Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City. This event offered a comprehensive view of Vietnam’s green development strategies, including industrial sustainability and energy transition, providing a fitting backdrop for the delegation’s focus on photovoltaic solutions. The participants had the chance to interact with key stakeholders in Vietnam’s energy sector, gaining valuable insights into market trends and opportunities.

The delegation's program also included a conference at the New World Saigon Hotel on October 22, where experts shared insights on Vietnam’s political landscape, economic development, and market entry strategies. This set the stage for the B2B meetings, where German companies engaged directly with Vietnamese partners over two days to discuss specific projects and potential collaborations.

The individual business meetings held on October 23-25 were a significant highlight of the trip, as they allowed for in-depth discussions on the practical implementation of photovoltaic solutions in industrial parks. These meetings provided both sides with a platform to explore tailored solutions that could meet the growing demand for clean energy in Vietnam’s industrial sector.

Building a Sustainable Future Together

The delegation trip reflected AHK Vietnam’s commitment to facilitating partnerships that support Vietnam's sustainable development goals while offering German companies the opportunity to expand their footprint in Southeast Asia. By focusing on photovoltaics for self-supply in industrial parks, this initiative aligned with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy independence.

As Vietnam continues to position itself as a hub for renewable energy in the region, partnerships between German and Vietnamese companies will play a critical role in driving innovation and ensuring that industrial parks across the country can access the latest in sustainable technology. The success of this delegation trip further strengthens the German-Vietnamese partnership and paves the way for future collaboration in the green energy sector.
