From October 22 to 25, 2024, a delegation led by the Department of Industry and Trade Ho Chi Minh City (DoIT) visited Germany to enhance Vietnam-Germany industry collaboration and explore sustainable development practices. The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) supported the group by coordinating meetings and connecting them with key German firms, organizations, and local authorities throughout the trip such as IHK Hannover, Phoenix Contact Electronics GmbH in Hannover Region, Wirtschaftsministerium Mainz, Wirtschaftsförderung Kaiserslautern and City Frankfurt.
The delegation, comprising 19 members, included representatives from prominent Vietnamese government and industrial bodies, such as the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Office, DoIT, HEPZA, SHTP, and ITPC. Accompanying them were approximately 10 company representatives, including leaders from major Vietnamese associations. The trip provided Vietnamese delegates with valuable insights into Germany's approach to industrial innovation, with a focus on sustainability, green transitions, and the circular economy.
The delegation’s central destination was the renowned EUROBLECH trade fair, held in Hanover from October 23 to 25, 2024. EUROBLECH is the world’s largest exhibition for sheet metal working technology, and the visit offered Vietnamese companies the opportunity to observe cutting-edge industry trends, network with leading international manufacturers, and identify potential partnerships.
This trip marked an important step in advancing Vietnam's industrial goals and promoting knowledge exchange on global environmental issues. The collaboration between DoIT and German organizations highlighted the growing importance of sustainable industry development as Vietnamese businesses and authorities work together to adapt to global environmental standards and strengthen international trade relations.
